MDK5 is designed to create your application even easier than before. The keyword is Software Packs.
You can find these Software Packs in the Pack Installer inside your MDK5. Or download the Software Pack from Keil and import it in the Pack Installer if your workstation has no access to the Internet.
Here you find all available Software Packs with a description of their content.
The Keil landing page is offering videos, further links and features, like the Legacy Pack.
With the installation of the “Legacy-Pack” you can already support your missing device, while we recommend to regulary update your Pack Installer to later on select your device at this position, which allows to use all new MDK-5 features, like i.e. RTE, the new Runtime Environment. For targets with an existing Software Pack you can easily use the “Run-Time Environment” Manager and click your device, drivers, interfaces and peripherals together.
If you have a target and there is no Software Pack available or a driver is missing don’t worry. Keil supports you with three Application Notes:
With those Application Notes you can learn how to implement your own drivers (Ethernet, LCD, etc.) your own Software Components (Libraries, reusable code, etc.) and how to manage different versions of your Software Packs.
Hint: The Software Packs are not bound to a license, so you can use Software Packs even when your license is expired (Software Packs with Middleware Components need a valid license).
